When does my Israeli A2 status change?
If you remain in Israel after discharge from the IDF, you will
have the
following options: B2 (Tourist), A2 (as a student), change to A1
(Temporary
Resident) or Israeli citizenship. Consult the Israeli
Ministry of Interior.
If you leave Israel with A2 status, you need not do anything.

The IDF provides accommodation for all soldiers.

By volunteer do you mean help out on a base, or actually serve
in the
IDF?
Mahal volunteers are regular soldiers and serve in the IDF
side-by-side
with conscripted Israeli soldiers.
